Open Source Cloud Native Secure Multiparty Computation
We at Bosch Research have decided to further develop the Carbyne Stack MPC cloud platform as an open-source project. Together with like-minded fellows from Bosch Corporate IT and external partners from industry and academia, we will expand the feature set of Carbyne Stack in the coming years to eventually allow for use of MPC in industrial applications.
We encourage anyone committed to advancing and promoting the use of privacy-friendly technology – whether individuals or organizations – to contribute to the project. Contributions of any kind are welcome via our Carbyne Stack GitHub organization.
Jointly use data without sharing it – a vision born in the early 80s after Andrew C. Yao published his seminal work on Protocols for Secure Computations– is approaching reality thanks to major advances in cryptography. Our research on trustworthy computing aims to lift this technology into the cloud and provide Bosch customers with new levels of data security and privacy.
Data is considered the new oil fueling today’s economies. If that is the case, the ability to leverage data will be a prerequisite for lasting success in our data-driven economy. Owning data, however, is a mixed blessing – it comes with significant challenges with respect to security and privacy.
Customers should be able to trust that their personal data is handled in accordance with data protection legislation and with high levels of privacy and security.
